ResBaz Aotearoa 2022, a week-long series of digital research skills sessions, has opened registration and is featuring 45+ free and online sessions running from 14-18 November.

We are looking for an experienced DevOps and Integration Programmer to join the NeSI team. You will design and implement a suite of open-source products underpinning and integrating NeSI’s services into high-performance computing and data analytics services.  Applications must be submitted online by the closing date of Wednesday 26 October 2022 to be considered.

As scientists witness Antarctica's ecosystems grappling with a warming climate, Aotearoa New Zealand's Antarctic Science Platform (ASP) is playing a critical role in national efforts to better understand, prepare for, and respond to climate change challenges.

NeSI's NZ Research Software Engineering Conference (NZRSE 2022) is running from 12-13 September, gathering researchers, computational scientists, and anyone who writes code, applies software solutions to research problems, or develops applications that enable research. 

Between September and the end of 2022, NeSI and Genomics Aotearoa are co-hosting a range of hands-on skill-building events for Aotearoa New Zealand's bioinformatics and genomics communities. Follow the links in the 'Upcoming events' list below for more information or to register.

Celebrating its 14th year, the eResearch NZ conference series co-hosted by NeSI, Genomics Aotearoa, and REANNZ is coming to Hamilton, NZ on 15-17 February 2023.eResearch NZ 2023 (eRNZ23) will be delivered as a hybrid online and in-person event with a theme of Capability, Connectivity and Equity. Also, similar to past years, eRNZ will kick off with a pre-conference Carpentry Connect meeting on 14 February 2023. 

The Carpentries is a global program to teach foundational computational and data management skills to researchers. New Zealand trains several potential Carpentries Instructor trainees every year and it is time to train a new cohort of future instructors.Our next Carpentries Instructor training course will be held virtually in late October 2022, organised by NeSI, the University of Otago, the Institute of Environmental Science and Research (ESR), and Genomics Aotearoa.

 CarpentryCon 2022: Expanding Data Frontiers will bring together the international computational and data science skills community from 1-12 August, and two sessions in particular will bring together and focus on the Australasia Carpentries communities.

We’re very close to launching Mahuika’s new capabilities to the research community – from additional compute capacity to specialised tools for supporting data-intensive research.
