Seminar: "Benefiting from the New Zealand eScience Infrastructure" - Wellington

Wellington-based researchers are invited to a seminar about how NeSI can accelerate their science. The talk will also be streamed via video conference for remote attendees. 

NIWA's Dr Michael Uddstrom will be delivering a presentation to Wellington researchers at Victoria University of Wellington. While NIWA has a particular interest in climate and other atmospheric modelling, the content will be largely neutral of this domain. The content will be focused on how researchers from every institution and  can benefit from the services provided by NeSI.

The talk will include:

• an overview of NeSI's high performance (HPC) facilities
• differentiating NeSI from BeSTGRID
• a discussion on the support that is available from NeSI and in particular providing an overview of the levels of technical and scientific expertise available
• how to access the facilities

The material will be accessible and broad, with an emphasis on how high performance computing is used to augement and accelerate science. Everyone with an interest is welcome to attend. In particular, the NeSI team welcomes researchers who are interested determining whether the national infrastructure can support their work.
