Lai Kei Peng, Senior Data and Insights Analyst

I have been a University of Auckland librarian for more than 10 years and then five years ago, having attended some Carpentry workshops, I decided to change my career completely to the data field which looked far more challenging and exciting. I have since worked at Unitec as a Reporting Specialist and at a private consultancy firm as a data insights analyst. I am so glad to be able to return to the tertiary environment to continue my data journey. I enjoy hiking and reading in my spare time and love watching Cantonese operas. I look forward to learning from my colleagues and contributing to NeSI in my data analysis role.

Mercedes Mudgway, Research Communities Advisor

I am joining NeSI after finishing a research grant with Te Whatu Ora. I hold a Master of Science in Psychology and have a keen research interest in cognitive neuroscience, social power and hierarchy and completed various research projects within these areas during my time as a researcher. I am committed to open access research and advocate for universal accessibility to new findings. In my spare time, I try to travel as much as I can with my partner and spend time with our happy golden retriever Billy.
