Sign up for the next NZ Carpentries community call

On Tuesday May 26th from 12:00-1:00pm NZST New Zealand will have its first Carpentries community call of 2020.

The Carpentries project comprises the Software Carpentry, Data Carpentry, and Library Carpentry communities who share a mission to teach foundational computational and data management skills to researchers.

Since many of us gathered at the Carpentry Connect in late February our routines, schedules, and plans have been in a constant state of flux (to say the least). This community call will be an opportunity to touch base, reset, and hear how your colleagues are navigating this uncertain period.

While the exact conversation will be shaped by attendees during the call, we are likely to discuss:

  • Navigating Covid lockdown: what training and collaboration works, what doesn’t
  • Updates from the community
  • What are our community goals moving forward (HPC carpentry? Delivering more online training? etc…)

As always, critiques, comments, and questions are welcome at these community calls. If you are a Carpentries Instructor/Helper/Learner/Community Member, want to run your own Carpentries Workshops, or just want to know more about The Carpentries, you are encouraged to come along to the call.
