Webinar: Got Errors? Troubleshooting on high performance computers

Coding can be tricky and frustrating, which is why NeSI’s first Quick tips webinar of 2020 will cover troubleshooting on NeSI.  According to Wikipedia, troubleshooting is “a logical, systematic search for the source of a problem in order to solve it”.  In this webinar we will step through a few of the most common errors NeSI users may face and give you tips for finding and correcting simple mistakes fast. Specifically, we will discuss:

  • What makes a great troubleshooter -- a methodical approach to troubleshooting,
  • Examples of common errors and how error logs can direct your troubleshooting, and
  • How to get the best help when you do get stuck.

There will also be plenty of time for questions and comments at the end of the webinar, so please bring any questions, tips, or errors that you would like to discuss.

This webinar is for any NeSI users who get errors (i.e. all NeSI users!).  There are no prerequisites and coders of all skill levels are welcome to attend.
