Francis Mondia, Senior HPC Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer
I'm an experienced IT professional with over 14 years in infrastructure operations and system administration across both Windows and Linux environments. My background includes managing virtualized environments using VMware technologies, supporting production and development systems, and working across both OT and IT domains. In my most recent role, I focused on maintaining enterprise infrastructure, including virtual desktops, system monitoring, and data protection—gaining valuable exposure to DevOps practices along the way.
I'm passionate about Linux, open-source technologies, and automation, and I enjoy using code to solve real-world problems. As I continue to grow, I'm especially excited to be stepping into the world of High Performance Computing (HPC), where I look forward to applying my skills in new and challenging ways. Outside of work, I’m a proud parent of four and enjoy balancing family life with staying active through sports and exercise.
Chris Barton, Senior HPC Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer
Chris Barton joins NeSI's Auckland office. He has worked as a Software and AWS/Azure/GCP platform engineer and has a background in physics, climate change research, and geospatial surveying. He settled in New Zealand 15 years ago after spending several holidays here diving and camping in the mountains.
