Registrations Open: Carpentry Connect 2024

Are you interested in digital skills training for researchers? If yes, you may be interested in learning about The Carpentries, a community-centric organisation committed to teaching foundational coding, and data science skills to researchers worldwide.

In New Zealand, The Carpentries community is growing as more institutions and universities run Software Carpentry, Data Carpentry, and Library Carpentry workshops and have staff attend instructor training. To support trainers within the Carpentries community, we bring to you AUNZ Carpentry Connect - an informal gathering for Trans-Tasman trainers to come together!

About this event

On 23 May 2024, ARDC and NeSI will be partnering with institutions across Aotearoa and Australia to host a hybrid Carpentry Connect event. This gathering will be co-located with ARDC Skills Summit 2024 in Melbourne.

For those of us in Aotearoa New Zealand, there will be virtual hubs across the country hosting local community gatherings in Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin and Christchurch.

Whether you've been involved with The Carpentries for years or you are just getting started - all are welcome to join!

These virtual hubs provide a fantastic opportunity to connect with members of your local community and if you are in any of those cities, swing by to grab a bite with them as you discuss all things Carpentries!

Stay tuned as we work to unveil an exciting program!

To help us organise a successful event, we encourage you to complete a short expression of interest form if you're considering contributing to the AU NZ Carpentry Connect 2024 event. Deadline for submissions is Monday, 22 April 2024.
